Right. So. I'll not even bother apologizing. Because. Seriously, I have no excuse, I just get caught up in dance and reading quantum mechanics books and forgetting to eat and sleep, never mind write. (On the other hand, if there is anything I can do to earn forgiveness, short of carnal favors, consider it done.)

Really, really old Loveless fic:

*does dance of victory* Two updates. In three days. HAH.

... Admittedly, this is even more pathetically overdue than Feverbright was. But still, this is some kind of record for me.

... I do believe that this is the first series of fic that I have actually completed. >.< Next up, TDDUP. Hopefully, it will happen MUCH MUCH FASTER than this stupid thing did. Grr. *kicks computer*

*sigh* I seem to be doing many fics that have no point recently. Okay, more accurately: this fic does have a point. Or it will. It's just that this part, the part which I actually have written and typed up and posted, has no point. It is pure fluff, with little bits of plotness for when I write the next part.

On a side note, the soundtrack for Alvin Ailey's Revelations is on iTunes. I just saw it at ADF, and OH MY GOD YES. *glee* I can die happy now.

Okay. I have... written fic. As part of reviewing for my Chem final tomorrow. That is... messed up. Hugely. Even more so because I like the fic. And it is good-ish fic. And... yeah. Uh.

Well, on the brighter note, this is one concept that I should now be able to recite in my sleep. *crosses fingers* And on a separate note, heat waves are made of evil, especially when they're more like heat tides.

The difference between imprecision and inaccuracy. )

Fic: Wondering

revelations, alvin ailey
Is this what summer vacation is going to feel like? Because if so, I'm all for it. *writing industriously* Latest offering:

Title: Wondering
Category: xxxHolic/Tsubasa/X. Again.
Pairings: Depending on how closely you read it, or how much you want to see it-- a little bit Dou/Wata?
Rating: PG
Word Count: 500 words
Summary: Short, Yuuko-centric piece.
Author's Notes: Inspired all of the vague allusions to "that time" in xxxHolic, and all of the weirdness in Tsubasa.

original fiction

There's something of a story behind this piece: basically, it was intended to be a side story (or maybe just a future chapter) for a really long original fic that I'm writing, but then one of my friends asked me to to a LARP with her, and I decided that I really liked this character and wanted to flesh her out more instead of using her in the first fic. Yeah. Um, it's very much not titled, and to clear up any confusion-- "the girl" in the italics and "the woman" in the unitalicized bits are the same person. Apparently, someone thought that she was her own mother, or something...? Anyway.

The (relevant) backstory for the LARP is my character is a seer's old nurse. The seer is a fairly high-ranking noble named Mei, and she's... a little bit of a bitch, but not a lot. Well, yes a lot. But my character is kind of creepy herself and doesn't really care; she's just entirely devoted to Mei. So--

Was bored (again) and noticed that it's apparently [info]nebulia's birthday today. So, present by way of fic. (Admittedly, it's highly unedited, so whoever reads this first is basically my beta by default, 'kay?)

I have been horrendously lazy this month. And last month. Which I have no decent excuse for, except I had to choreograph about five different pieces and it ate me. Literally. I have bite marks on my shoulder, and bruises everywhere imaginable.

But, complaining aside-- this is the sequel-ish-thing to Meeting, and I'm not sure how much sense it will make without reading that first. Very little, probably.

Okay, so I start writing a random bit of Sei/Sub, for the express purpose of counteracting the self-indulgent angstfest that I was also going to post today. (Which, by the way, means there is not plot and not much of a point. Or proofreading.) And then I get to the end and I realize something: I just can't do it. I cannot write fluffy Sei/Sub. Ever. ... >.< I have no excuse. None. Except that it's pretty and... erm, I think that's about it. There might be PoT fic up here at some point, and I apologize deeply. I'm trying the "fic-my-brains-out-until-I-get-sick-of-it" approach.

Right, I'm rambling. Or ranting. Or both, possibly. The important bit:

Someday I will learn how to stop writing when I'm bored. And I will learn the patience to wait until I can edit something properly before I post it. Until then, I give you-- fic. Not my favorite effort, but it gets from plot point A to plot point B.

Right. This began with [info]iambickilometer's fic where Watanuki was Subaru's apprentice, and then I wanted to write vampire twins/Watanuki, and it... morphed. Or maybe disintegrated. If there was anything to disintegrate in the first place.

If anyone's interested, I might do a Watanuki + Kamui fic. Just because I want to see how that dynamic would work. (It probably wouldn't go as well as the Watanuki + Subaru)

Title: Meeting
Category: xxxHolic/Tsubasa/X/TB. They all more or less cross over in the manga anyways, right?
Pairings: ARGH WHERE DID THE DOUWATA COME FROM. IT'S BARELY THERE BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE. Ehm. Some Subaru/Seishiro, Subaru/Kamui, a little Doumeki/Watanuki.
Rating: Why do I bother? I can't write anything over PG-13 anyways.
Word Count: 15 drabbles x 100 words apiece = 1500 words
Summary: The vampire twins need Yuuko's help. Watanuki discovers that he is also going to assist them.
Author's Notes: I'm reading Genji Monogatari (The Tale of Genji) at the moment, and I want to put up one of the poems from there for each of the drabble-ish bits, because there was a lot of imagery that I had to cut. So that will happen. Later. No, I don't know when later is. After I've slept, for one thing.

This was already posted on FF.net, but I actually like lj better and so I'm reposting here. I wrote it a while ago, so it's different from the way I write now. Also, no pairing unless you squint. (Gen was my Holic OTP when I started reading, and to some extent still is.)

Category: xxxHolic

Word Count: 1040
Summary: Some things hurt you, and some things break you. Others dance right on the line.

I have the attention span of a gnat. I was happily looking around for something to read, content in the knowledge that part 3 of TTDUP was half-written, and then I came across the Carol Of The Bells challenge at [info]doumekiwatanuki comm and remembered that I had been meaning to try Dou/Wata for a while. And I failed at the prompt, too. Kind of. *hangs head in shame* But, anyways... it's not that bad. Just kind of pathetic that I can't stick to one story for more than two chapters. >.<

Happy Saturnalia, everyone! (Why yes, I do do that just to be obnoxious. What tipped you off?)

Title: Goodwill Towards Fellow Men
Category: xxxHolic
Rating: G. Wait, I think Watanuki swore a couple of times. PG-13, but language only.
Word Count: 2339

This would come under the category of "GAH WHY CAN'T I STOP WRITING DAMMIT." Especially when I have an actual paper due in three days and all of about three sentences written. Actually, the paper might have something to do with it... Bleh. 'Nyways, more Sei/Sub fic. I'll get back to Motion eventually.

And, despite all the complaining, I'm kind of attached to the idea behind this.

Title: `Til Death Do Us Part
Part: 1 of [select a number from all integers greater than, say, six]
Category: X/1999
Rating: at this point? Erm, PG-13.
Word Count: 1143
Summary: What happens after death?
Author's Notes: Well, we all hope that hell would have better sense than to take him in the first place.

Originally, I was going to hang onto this story until Valentine's Day, because it seemed like it would be more appropriate and that it could use a bit more refining. And then I took the character quiz (I got Seishiro. XD ), and discovered that I have no self-control. Surprisingly enough, I still like it even with only a handful of edits.

Title: Roses
Category: X/1999
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 735
Author's Notes: Because Seishiro is a freak and you just know that he would pull something like this. You just know it.
